St Georges Hall Wedding Photographer

Right in the heart of Liverpool, St George’s Hall is an absolutely stunning wedding venue, full of history, character and incredible architecture. From its grand columns and beautiful interiors to the impressive steps outside, there are so many gorgeous backdrops for wedding photographs. I'll also admit I definitely have a soft spot for this particular venue as it was where I married my wife in 2015!

I'll always get that tingle walking past its frontage and it never ceases to amaze and impress. I particularly love the contrast between the elegance of the building and the energy of the city around it. It's a brilliant setting for couples wanting something timeless, stylish and full of personality.

Planning your wedding at St Georges Hall?

One of the things I love about photographing weddings at St George’s Hall is the sheer grandeur of the place. From the incredible architecture and towering columns to the beautiful stone steps outside, there's something really special about getting married in such an iconic Liverpool landmark.

The steps are one of my favourite spots for those lovely just-married moments, especially with friends and family celebrating around you. The impressive columns and surrounding architecture also provide some gorgeous backdrops for couple portraits, while the nearby streets offer a completely different feel, bringing a little of Liverpool's personality into your photographs.

My advice? Make the most of the contrast between the grand surroundings and the buzz of the city. You don't need to venture far or spend ages away from your guests. Just a little wander around the building can give you a wonderful mix of elegant, timeless portraits and those relaxed, spontaneous moments that really tell the story of your day.

My tips for beautiful wedding photos at St Georges Hall

One of the best things about St George’s Hall and mentioned several times already is the incredible architecture, both inside and out. Those grand steps and impressive columns make a fantastic backdrop for couple portraits and the best part is they're completely weatherproof too, being under cover.  I'd always recommend allowing around 10–15 minutes after your ceremony for some relaxed couple photos. You really don't need to spend ages away from your guests, and there's no need for awkward posing. Just a little time together to soak it all in while I capture some lovely, natural moments.

I'd also recommend maybe getting down to street level too to explore some of the surrounding area. There are some really cool spots dotted around Liverpool city centre  , giving a totally different vibe and feel to some of your wedding images.
