Some love stories are too beautiful to be captured in just one place—and Chiara and Alex's is one of them. The year before, they tied the knot in a stunning ceremony in Germany, surrounded by family, friends but for Alex, there was one place still calling out to be included—his North Wales homeland.
So, almost a year later, we packed up the wedding dress, dusted off the Kilt, and made our way to the breathtaking Llanddwyn Island on Newborough Beach in Anglesey. This is possibly my favourite beach in the whole world! The wild beauty of the Welsh coastline set the perfect scene—sweeping sands, rolling dunes, and the distant mountains of Snowdonia keeping watch in the background. Then with stormy clouds gathering, we raced our way around the beach and island despite the heavens threatening we managed to avoid any downpours just some light wind that added to the evening atmosphere.
As for the happy couple, Chiara and Alex absolutely smashed it! Honestly so much admiration for this pair and how they embraced this whole occasion.. They even didn't appear flustered when I nearkly got us stranded by missing high tide cut off by 10 minutes! Ooops! Fortunately we made it back on to dry land with some laughs about the near miss and there was something incredibly special about capturing their love in a place that meant so much to Alex—bringing a part of his personal history into their wedding story. As the wind danced through Chiara’s dress and the sun dipped behind the island’s iconic lighthouse, it felt like the kind of moment that will live in memory forever.
It’s days like this that remind me why I love what I do—documenting not just weddings, but the heart and soul of the couples I work with, in the places that matter most to them.
