Tros Yr Afon Wedding

Abi and fraser

It's hard to not to love Abi and Fraser. They have such an easy going nature about them both and from our first meeting I knew their wedding at Tros Yr Afon was going to be relaxed, happy and chilled just like them!

So on to the day itself! Being a North Wales wedding photographer I know this area very well so I arrived early taking in the scenic drive through the historic town of Beamaris on the isle of Anglesea, North Wales and then on to the wedding venue. Tros Yr Afon is a strangely amazing sort of place really. Just off the beaten track and down a country lane lies this intimate country house with self contained holiday cottages on the wonderfully extensive grounds. Abi had stayed over the night before so bridal prep took place in the Manor House and then the wedding party hopped in to a classic jag and took the short 5 minute drive back to Beaumaris .

NB The bridal party were struggling to fit all bridesmaids in one car so I happily agreed to take one in mine. Helping out and doing anything you need to make your day work is all part of the job description for your friendly wedding photographer/friend/mate/bouquet carrier!

Abi and Fraser got married at a beautiful church in the town centre and after a fantastic and emotional ceremony everyone made their way back to Tros Yr Afon to start the celebrations! Thankfully the weather gods were playing ball and it was an amazing bright day so the drinks reception took place on the courtyard. The venue has amazing grounds including space for a Tepee/Marquee which is what the bridal couple opted for. Something definitely to consider if you're thinking of having your wedding at this north Wales wedding venue!

Before the wedding breakfast we'd usually go off for a quick 10 minutes to do some cool bride and portraits but as Tros Yr Afon is just down the road from a secluded beach Abi and Fraser suggested we make the trip down and grab some shots there! Absolutely 100% glad we did as we got some amazing wedding portraits. The only possible issue is that when guests look back at them they'll probbaly think they got married in Mauritius not Wales!

Then on back to the party which was exactly that, as a 'party' is the only word to describe it! Frasier is Scottish and many family members made the trip down to sunny Wales to join them and celebrate the start of their married life together. So obviously there were several nods to Frazier's heritage; queue kilts, a wedding entrance led by a bagpipes and of course a traditional Scottish Ceilidh! Which personally I have never experienced before and I've got to be honest it was crazy!!! But in a totally good way! Loved it and can't wait to capture more!

So Abi and Fraser thank you! Your wedding rocked. Here's a selection from the day!

Thanks guys and big thank you to all the staff at Tros Yr Afon it was a blast!
